Blue Ridge Cotton Company is proud to announce an upcoming art event at their store in downtown Blue Ridge. Sam Granger, a resident of Lula, Georgia, will be exhibiting and offering for sale his incredible and unique folk art on June 14, 2014 from 10:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M.
Sam Granger (known as SamG to collectors and friends) is a self taught artist residing in the northeast Georgia mountains. Working mainly with recycled materials, he creates paintings and assemblages based on his life, stories passed down through his family, and southern folklore. Mood determines his art and its subject matter. When asked to describe his art, his normal reply is, “I paint stuff that I feel like painting.” Sam’s work has been shown across the southeastern United States. He will also be part of an episode of the new television show, The Originals, this fall on the CW.
Blue Ridge Cotton Company opened in March 2014 in the Clocktower Building in downtown Blue Ridge. (544 East Main Street – Suite 2) They offer Blue Ridge themed apparel and gift items, American folk art, unique gift items, holiday décor, garden décor, and much more.
