Two Glass Arts Events at The Bowen

The Bowen is pleased to announce the month-long exhibit GLASS ART from April 28 to May 25, 2018. This show features over 20 glass artists which include instructors and students from Dunwoody’s Spruill Center for the Arts and Dawsonville’s own glass studio, Pamela Mayer of Substantial Lion Glass.

Glass techniques include stained glass, blown glass, fused glass, mosaics and art sculptures. From delicate to durable or wall hangings to useable, these works of art bend light and color in all forms. Come stroll through the glass menagerie.

All Bowen exhibits are free and open to the public.


On May 11, 2018 at 7:00p.m., the Bowen is featuring an evening concert GLASS HARP with Brien Engel performing.

Brien Engel of Pine Lake, GA will create an intriguing and educational demonstration which combines glass and music and it’s origin and process. He also relates historical stories of the inventive process of musical instruments, including the physics and scientific background of sound. Prepare yourself for a unique and entertaining experience of musical ambiance.

Tickets for this performance are $10 and can be purchased online or at the Bowen.
