Show hosts Bowen Center for the Arts, Georgia ForestWatch and The Georgia Chapter of the Sierra Club held their Awards Reception for their Appalachian Mountain Treasures Photo Show March 3rd.
This juried event attracted 66 Southeastern professional and amateur photographers to compete for over $4,000 in prizes and awards. Cash prize sponsors for this event, who provided $500 for first prize and $250 for second, were The Dobbs Fund, The Bowen Center for the Arts, North Georgia Community Foundation, Mohawk Carpet Foundation and the Georgia Chapter of the Sierra Club. Merchandize sponsors were Patagonia, Len Foote Hike Inn and the Bowen.

The Bowen wishes to thank all those who contributed their time and talent in artwork, as well as the incredible volunteers who make it work. Also a special thanks to Judges Larry Winslett of Dahlonega, GA, Peter McIntosh of Clayton, GA and Horace Hamilton of Duluth, GA. They created a one of a kind show of over 126 works from the 253 entries received. These judges will also have work on display.
Come tour the Appalachian at The Bowen Center for the Arts located at 334 Highway 9 North, Dawsonville, .1 miles north of the historic square. The Bowen Art Center hours are Tuesday through Friday 10-4 and Saturday 12-4. All exhibits are free and open to the public.
