The Bowen Center for the Arts will feature the Georgia Clay Council Exhibit February 3-23, 2018. Beautiful clay pieces by numerous talented member artists will be on display for sale. Join us in welcoming this group at the Opening Reception Saturday, February 3 from 1:00-3:00pm.
The Georgia Clay Council was founded in 2003. They are a non-profit organization comprised of 43 members who are full time studio potters, sculptors, amateur enthusiasts, art educators and students, all sharing a common bond – the love of working with clay. Using a variety of methods, they make pieces which are functional, figurative, decorative and anything in between. Their Mission Statement states they are dedicated to meeting the needs of clay artists and potters of Georgia by providing opportunities and environment for cultural and educational growth. The Council works hard to promote “all things clay” in Georgia.
The Bowen Center for the Arts is located at 334 Highway 9 North, Dawsonville, just north of the historic square. Art Center hours are Tuesday through Friday 10-4 and Saturday 12-4.
